Happy New Year  Ho, Ho, Ho!

By Jan Stryker

Americans should rejoice, for prosperity - as always -  is just around the
corner, and peace, freedom, liberty, democracy, equality, and all that other
good stuff will soon (by 2003, at least) reign supreme throughout the world,
if the government has its way.  How do we know this?  Because Maximum
Leader Bush tells us so:

(Reuters) Bush Predicts 'War Year' in 2002
       U.S. President George. W. Bush
warned that 2002 would still be a "war year."

Well now, isn't that just dandy?  We are promised another year of war!
We should be dancing a jig in the streets.  (After all, so many of us have
lost our jobs recently, that we have plenty of time to celebrate in
such a fashion.)  And just think of all the friends America will make, all
over the world, as it extends Operation Infernal Injustice to every little
rag-tag, third-world pesthole on the planet, that did something to get under
Israel's scabrous hide.  There is quite a list of such places, more than
sufficient to keep the military/industrial complex churning out ever more
innovative weapons of mass destruction and raking in more of your money
(from those of you who still have jobs) than ever before.  Happy New Year,
indeed.

This war is also good news for those of you who have gone unemployed due to
the massive, unimpeded influx of non-White, non-assimilable third-worlders:
You may be able to find new employment as the drastic reduction in our
traditional liberties necessitates a huge network of citizens spying on one
another, and reporting back to the government in order to get their
hand-outs.  Don't laugh - it's been done before.  The government knew this
all along, of course, and it just goes to show how wise, caring, and
farseeing it is.  You will be grateful for its leadership in these matters.
And lest you think that the government is not doing everything in its power
to solve the problem of terrorism, just look at one of the things they are
doing:

(The Guardian) Afghan jailers beat confessions from men

Guards admitted yesterday to the Guardian that they routinely tortured
inmates during interrogations to extract information, which was given to
American officials trying to identify suspects to be prosecuted in the US.

This way, you see, nobody can accuse *us* of being inhuman.  We'll learn all
the bad guys' secrets and put an end to all this nonsense.  And since we're
using bombs and missiles and such, we won't even get our hands dirty, right?
And when it's all over, the whole world will love us.

So have a Happy New Year, folks.  Know that we are on the side of
righteousness and human kindness, striving to make this world a better and
more peaceful place.  Be thankful that the 'other side' doesn't have
daisycutters, to pound every rock in this country into dust, and cluster
bombs with which to litter your roads and fields, disguised to look like
packets of food that might be sought out by a starving population.  Rest
well in your cozy beds tonight, thanking your lucky stars, that you live in
America, the land of the free and the home of the brave.
