In 1989 liberals pushed through an "assault rifle ban" in California. The bill was an emotional response to the Stockton school shooting in which a gunman opened fire on school children in Stockton, California. The bill failed to prevent additional school shootings in California, flagrantly infringed the Second Amendment Right of all Californians and threatens to make felons out of many decent Americans, including one police hero.

Even the terminology that the liberals used in the bill is dishonest. They have redefined semi-automatic rifles as being "assault rifles." A true assault rifle can fire like a machine gun while a semi-automatic rifle must have its trigger pulled each time to fire a round. The Jews and liberals, who oppose gun ownership, dishonestly use the term "assault rifle" to take advantage of public ignorance. Many uninformed people may actually believe that the "assault rifle ban" is targeting machine guns. As usual with liberal "solutions," the "assault rifle ban" has failed to stop school shootings, but liberals still cling to it regardless.

A right wing solution to school shootings would be to analyze the problem and to actually do things that will PREVENT a future school shooting. One solution would be to have a "tip line" to report dangerously unstable people, who have said things that cause their friends or relatives to fear that they might go on a shooting spree. In a significant percentage of school shootings, friends of the gunman had a clue that something was seriously wrong.

A psychiatrist could have a talk with the allegedly deranged individual to see if the pit bull next door is telling him to kill. A lie detector might even be used to see if the suspect is concealing a desire to kill. An MRI scan might even reveal abnormal brain activity. We should use every technology available to solve this problem. (Our society desperately needs to develop procedures to weed out lunatics BEFORE they cause harm.) Another right wing solution would be to give gun carry permits to responsible teachers at each school. It would be prohibitively expensive to assign police at each school so arming a few teachers, who may have military or police experience, would be a logical move.

Liberals always proclaim that right wing solutions are "unworkable" or "extremist." As usual the liberals are wrong and people have died because of their policies. The "assault rifle ban" of 1989 did not stop a recent school shooting that killed two at Santee, CA. (Ref. 1) The liberal gun control "solution" failed miserably. In contrast an armed citizen shot and wounded a deranged gunman at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, California. (Ref. 2) The liberals reacted to the Santee shooting, that killed two, by demanding more gun control. The liberals reacted to the positive El Cajon incident by suppressing that story in the liberal media so that people don't demand using armed citizens to fight crime.

The California assault rifle ban outlaws firearms including a few, which have been in existence since the Civil War. The Henry repeating rifle with a sixteen round magazine is an "assault rifle" according to California liberals. The semi-automatic .30 caliber carbine from World War Two has been bought and sold in the civilian market since 1945, but now it is "too dangerous" for the public to have. Why were these weapons uncontroversial during the 1940s, '50s, '60s, and '70s? Why is it suddenly necessary to take these weapons away from the public?

Perhaps the problem is not the guns, which are only inanimate objects, but the massive surge in crime caused by minority gangs. Naturally the gutless liberals would rather disarm all Americans and shred the Second Amendment than admit that the Black and Latino gang problem is a huge source of crime, which has only gotten worse. A few more sinister liberals (mostly the Jews) want to disarm White Americans and happily use the out-of-control minority crime problem and the occasional lunatic shooter as an excuse to pave the way for a future Zionist police state.

One truly aggravating aspect of the "assault rifle" case is that a very large percentage of judges are militant leftist hacks, who have no respect whatsoever for the Constitution. The Democrats have been filling judge positions on the state and Federal level with people, who range from far left to closet communist. The NRA has appealed the "assault rifle ban" in California no less than five times. (Ref. 3) So far, liberal hack judges have thrown the case out every single time, unwilling to admit that their liberal friends in the California legislature violated their oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, which includes not "infringing" the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Taking a Right away from the citizens of the United States should be considered an "act of tyranny" and an "act of treason" against the Constitution, but liberals feel that their "good intentions" are more important than the wisdom of the Founding Fathers.

Finally, the "assault rifle ban" may cause twenty otherwise upstanding police officers in Los Angeles to become felons. Many of these officers had to go through an elaborate paperwork path to obtain semi-automatic rifles so that they could practice their shooting away from work. Apparently, the paperwork was not done 100 percent according to the dictates of liberal gun control commissars. One potential victim is Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Kresimir Kovac. "Kovac, a recent nominee for the Sheriff's Department's Medal of Valor with seven years on the force, is charged with one count of conspiracy to offer an assault weapon for sale, one count of illegally offering for sale or selling assault weapons and 18 counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon."

A dentist, who possessed a Class 3 gun dealers license is also charged in this "assault rifle" scandal. (Yet another "dangerous criminal" in the minds of liberals.) If the liberals have their way, twenty police officers and a dentist will be sent to jail as felons for an un-Constitutional law that has failed to make the public safe. A sane society would overturn the "assault rifle ban" and leave these fine men alone. Our liberal society is about to send a dentist and twenty police officers, including one hero, to jail for nothing.
