The Hatfields, The McCoys and the Browns

by Charles Coughlin

Let's say two families have been fighting a feud for years. No one can remember what started the feud, and there is no end in sight. We'll call these families the Hatfields and the McCoys. For years the feud has been evenly matched and the casualties have been fairly even. After years of feuding, a new family appears, the Browns. The Browns are a powerful family. They hold the positions of judge and marshal. They also own the press and the armory.

Suddenly the McCoys notice that the Browns favor the Hatfields. When a Hatfield kills a McCoy, it isn't mentioned in the press. The Marshal shows no interest in pursuing the killer. When a McCoy kills a Hatfield, however, it becomes front page news. The Marshal puts up wanted posters, and the judge proclaims that the killers are nothing short of monsters and will be punished to the full extent of the law.

As if this isn't bad enough, the Browns start giving the Hatfields more powerful guns with longer ranges. Suddenly, the Hatfields can kill a McCoy with hardly any risk to themselves. This situation continues for years. The Hatfields become more bold and start stealing farms and homes from the McCoys, and the judge ignores any cries of protest. The McCoys begin to realize that they will have all their property stolen and their entire family will be wiped out. It is no longer possible for the McCoys to fight the Hatfields, who have become too well-armed thanks to the Browns.

The McCoys, fearing total annihilation by the Hatfields, decide that they have only one choice left, and that is to attack the Browns. The McCoys launch a surprise attack and kill Marshal Brown and Judge Brown, who ignored all their cries for justice. After suffering their first casualties, the Browns react in horror, can't believe anyone would ever attack them and insist that they have been wrongly attacked. They vow that they will punish the "cowards" and "evil-doers" who dared to attack them.

Why is it so easy to see the hypocrisy, double standard and total disregard of justice by the Brown family in the story above, but the average American sees nothing wrong in America's blind support of Israel? It is no surprise to any impartial observer that the Moslems have finally attacked the United States after America's carte blanche support of Israel since 1948. What is surprising is that it took the Moslems so long to finally attack the unjust and blindly one-sided "Brown family."

Israeli atrocities against Moslems and blind, uncritical support of Israel by the United States are the primary causes of the Sep. 11th attack. Some kosher political pundits have actually claimed that we were attacked because "we believe in freedom." (See how foolish people sound when they can't tell the truth about Israel.) If America wants to avoid being attacked in the future, all we have to do is drop all support of Israel. (Even mild criticism of Israel when it mows down Palestinian civilians would be an improvement.) You don't see the Moslems attacking the Swiss, do you? The Swiss have enough sense not to support unjust, criminal regimes, like the government of Israel.
